Environment Canada meteorologists predict residents in Mississauga, Brampton and Hamilton will see winds of up to 70 km/h as well as pea-sized hail in some areas today (June 11) and through this evening.
Isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop along lake breeze boundaries as well as near the Niagara Escarpment this afternoon.
Places that experience successive storms are likely to see local rainfall amounts of up to 40 mm.
Hamilton has already seen some hail sweep through.

The risk of thunderstorms will lessen after 9 p.m. however widespread showers incoming from Michigan may bring the chance of isolated lightning strikes this evening over southwestern Ontario.
