Seven people have been charged in connection with a 2024 home invasion homicide in Mississauga.
The incident happened in the early morning hours of Oct. 1, 2024. Four masked people entered a home in the Central Parkway West and Confederation Parkway area. The masked men confronted the home’s occupants, demanding money and valuables.
During the confrontation, one of the homeowners, 55-year-old Ruo Zhou Wei, was shot and later died of his injuries in the hospital. Two other men were injured and taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle later identified as a white Volkswagen Atlas.
Following a complex and lengthy investigation, including extensive canvassing across more than 80 kilometres, forensic analysis, and judicial authorizations, Peel Regional Police said on Monday.
Peel Regional Police Deputy Chief Nick Milinovich said that the arrests led to the dismantling of a crime group.
Seven men from Toronto are charged and a gun was seized during a search.
Sonam Wangchuk, 25, Muhammad Rahimullah, 21, and Tenzin Lama, 21, were charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder using a firearm.
