Update: Hamilton police have announced that Wayne Sherman, 68, was found safe on July 13. He was initially reported missing on July 9.

The Hamilton Police Service is seeking help from residents in safely locating a man who has been missing since Thursday afternoon after leaving his home.

On July 6 at approximately 3 p.m., Wayne Sherman was last seen at his residence near John St. N and Cannon St., west of Barton St.

Police say the 68-year-old left his home on his own accord and there is a growing concern for his well-being.

Wayne Sherman is described as a white man, with a medium build and walks with a noticeable hunch. He has short brown hair, blue eyes, and a moustache.

Officers believe he was wearing a jean jacket with sleeves cut off, a t-shirt, cut off jean shorts, a dark coloured baseball hat, and was carrying a large grey backpack.

If anyone has information that could assist police in the investigation, is asked to call Division 10 Staff Sergeant 905-546-4725.
