68 new COVID-19 cases reported in Halton, 34 in Burlington

The Halton Region is reporting 68 new cases of COVID-19 on Sept. 20.

The City of Burlington leads the region with the highest number of cases for today, with 34 newly reported.

According to the Halton Region COVID-19 dashboard, these 34 new cases place the total active cases in the city at 70 and overall cases throughout the pandemic at 5,062. In the city, 4,293 cases have been resolved, or roughly 97.8 per cent.

According to the dashboard, 16 new cases were reported in Oakville today. Sixteen new cases were also reported in Milton and two new cases were recorded in Halton Hills.

The region has recorded 241 virus-related deaths since the start of the pandemic.

According to the dashboard, 85 per cent of eligible Halton residents have received one dose of vaccination and 81 per cent are considered fully vaccinated. A total of 859,687 doses have been administered.

There are currently three ongoing outbreaks in workplace settings in Halton.
