The alleged attacker in a stabbing near Bowmanville’s Rotary Park early Monday morning has been identified as a 65-year-old-old Clarington man.
Durham Police responded to an unknown trouble call near Queen Street and Temperance Street at 5:30 this morning after the victim flagged down a passing motorist. The victim had been stabbed multiple times and officers and emergency medical personnel arriving on scene were able to provide life-saving care before he was taken to a Toronto trauma centre in serious condition.
His condition has since been upgraded to stable.
Police were able to locate the suspect near Liberty Street South and Prince Street a short time later and take him into custody.
Theadore Joseph Hall has been charged with aggravated assault, weapons dangerous, assault with a weapon, theft and possession of stolen property.
He was held for a bail hearing.
