63-year-old man facing impaired driving charges after seen driving erratically in Hamilton

A Hamilton man has been arrested and charged for impaired driving on Tuesday.

Shortly after 9:00 p.m., police say they got several 911 calls from concerned citizens who saw a vehicle moving erratically in the downtown area of James Street North and Barton Street.

There were no reports of the vehicle causing any accidents or injuries.

“Hamilton Police entered into the investigation and conducted a tactical vehicle intervention on the vehicle in question, resulting in the safe arrest of a 63-year-old man,” said police.

The man is charged with dangerous operation, impaired operation, failing to remain, operation while impaired (equal to or over 80 BAC), and parole revocation.

Police have not disclosed his identity as court proceedings are underway today (April 26).
