6-year-old child filmed while using washroom at day camp in Mississauga; man faces charges

A volunteer camp counsellor at a Mississauga day camp is facing child pornography and voyeurism charges after a six-year-old child was filmed while using the washroom.

Investigators with the Peel Regional Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit say the child was videotaped while using the facilities at MC Day Camp between last December and July of this year.

Police haven’t said if the victim is a boy or girl.

The camp counsellor has volunteered at the day camp, located at Mentor College in the Lakeshore Rd. E. and Hurontario St. area of Port Credit, since June 2018, police say.

Police arrested a man on Wednesday.

Alexander Clarke, 26, of Mississauga, is charged with voyeurism, possession of child pornography, making child pornography and make available child pornography.

He was held for a bail hearing and will appear in Brampton court.

Investigators say there may be more victims.

According to the day camp’s website, it has been in operation since 1990 and is located at Mentor College, a private JK to Grade 12 school.

Mentor College, in the Port Credit area of Mississauga. The private school is also the site of MC Day Camp.
