6 new restaurants that opened in Mississauga in Jan. 2024

For foodies who love breakfast, have a sweet tooth or enjoy diverse cuisines and flavours, here are the recent restaurant openings in Mississauga that might be worth exploring.


Craveables

Craveables, located at 5130 Dixie Rd. in Dixie Square Shopping Mall, north of Eglinton Avenue in Mississauga, is the newest all-day breakfast spot.

The menu includes a range of breakfast items including gourmet omelettes with veggie, meat and smoked salmon options. There are pancakes and waffles, and a variety of “artisanal” eggs benedicts.

The are also signature skillets with veggie, meat and turkey bacon options with potatoes and eggs.

The dessert menu features cakes, ice cream, crepes and sundaes.

Diners can also enjoy espresso coffees, teas, smoothies and milkshakes

Additionally, the restaurant is not only halal but also entirely pork-free.


Poulet Rouge 

Located inside Mississauga Square One’s food court, the restaurant offers its customers a build-your-own-bowl experience.

In each bowl, patrons will find halal grilled chicken tenders, a choice from a diverse selection of 16 toppings, three different grain choices, and 7 distinct sauces. The restaurant boasts over 4,444 different bowl combinations!

Some of the fresh toppings include corn, onions, spinach, beans, tomatoes and cucumbers.

The grain options include brown rice, quinoa and bulgur wheat.

If you’re feeling extra hungry you might want to opt into trying a Canadian favourite —poutine, which is paired with homemade fries and the classic gravy and cheese curds. For an extra charge, customers can add up to three toppings.


Baba’s Kunafa

Baba’s Kunafa bakery located  247 Queen St. S. in Streetsville serves sweet treats with a Middle Eastern twist.

Kunafa is a traditional dessert made with thin pastry soaked in a sweet syrup. It can be layered with cheese, clotted cream, pistachios, or nuts.

The menu includes other options like ice cream kunafa and kunafa on a stick. Additionally, patrons can try a sandwich-style kunafa, and baklava.


Meeko Meeko

Meeko Meeko is located at 325 Central Parkway West, inside of Foodie North.

The establishment serves various kind of of bubble tea and smoothies, as well as lattes. Some flavours include coconut, matcha and banana.

There are also various styles of brewed coffee and teas available. Some options include fresh fruit-infused teas and a range of milk tea blends.

The store also carries sweet treats such as their Creamy Cheese Oreo Crunch Dorayaki which  is a Japanese style pancake.


British Pride Bakery

British Pride Bakery in Mississauga is located at 6956 Financial Dr. within a shopping complex, and sells baked goods, meats, and groceries.

The store has 30 different meat pies to choose from including sausage rolls, and Scotch Eggs—a boiled egg wrapped in meat, coated in breadcrumbs and either baked or deep-fried.

The bakery also has a cake counter which serves all kinds of British treats including custard tarts, apple turnovers, chocolate eclairs, and Madeleine’s —a small sponge cake in the shape of a shell.

Freshly baked sweet and savoury scones are made daily. Some flavours include cranberry and white chocolate, raisin, cheddar cheese, and blueberry. If you prefer pairing your scone with fruit jam or cream, the store has those options available as well.

Mishree Cocktails and Cuisine

Mishree Cocktails and Cuisine, located at 825 Britannia Rd. W. in Heartland Town Centre, offers an extensive selection of over 100 dishes, featuring both South Asian and Middle Eastern flavours.

Some menu items include avocado and green apple gol gappe (hollow, fried wheat shell), lamb chops, chili garlic chicken momos and paneer tikka masala, alongside innovative dishes that are unique to Mishree including meat beliram, meen moilee and kukut ki barfi.

The bar offers 30 cocktails and zero-proof cocktails. Some “must-try” drinks include The King & Marry, Mishree G&T and Winter Sage.
