57-year-old man charged with allegedly using fake COVID-19 document at Pearson Airport

A 57-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly attempting to use a fraudulent COVID-19 document at Pearson Airport in Mississauga.
Peel police say that around 5:00 pm on April 20, 2021, officers were called to assist the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) with a situation involving a document believed to be fake. Police say a subsequent review of the document by a Public Health Agency of Canada officer revealed that the document could be fraudulent.
A Whitby man was arrested and charged with forging a document. He was released and is scheduled to appear in court on July 5, 2021.
Once he was released, he returned to the Public Health Agency of Canada for processing.
