Summer is one of the most popular seasons for weddings. It is estimated that about 30 percent of couples get married in the summertime, largely due to the beautiful weather.

And, it is not uncommon to have an engagement or wedding photoshoot before tying the knot.

Luckily, Ontario is full of amazing picturesque locations that are not too far away from home! Whether you would like a picture by the beach or somewhere more unique, this list has you covered.

Here are five fun wedding photo spots near Mississauga, in no particular order.


5. Scarborough Bluffs

Permit required: Yes

Best suited for a daytime session, the Bluffs have a wide variety of locations that would make the perfect background. The Scarborough Bluffs is the perfect spot for couples that love the beach and cliffs. Whether you choose the forest area, the rocks or the sandy beach, your pictures are sure to turn out great. The bluffs can get busy during the weekends and evenings, so make sure you choose the right day to go.

4. Humber College North Campus

Permit required: Yes

One of the best locations in Toronto for an engagement shoot is actually the Humber College North campus. The north campus has a beautiful park called the Humber Arboretum, which has forest area, ponds, bridges, waterfalls and small trails. This location is the best spot for a more leisurely shoot. For the couples that prefer something nonchalant, the campus instantly comes to mind. The space is very big so people can visit anytime to do the shoot.

3. Graffiti Alley

Permit required: No

Graffiti Alley is located in the Fashion District of Toronto and offers the most amazing murals. The Graffiti Alley is the perfect spot for those looking for a unique place for the shoot. People can choose from diverse street art for their picture’s background. Located in the big city, this is the best spot for something less traditional and more hip. Plus, it is one of the few places that does not require a permit.

2. Evergreen Brick Works

Permit required: Yes

The Evergreen Brick Works is a former quarry and industrial site located in the Don River Valley. It has now revamped into a community centre. Located in Toronto, this place features many rustic brick walls, an industrial setting and woodland. The site is one of the most versatile sites on the list. It also makes for a less traditional photoshoot and has one of the best cityscape views in Ontario. People can spend an entire afternoon wandering the property and taking pictures along the way.

1. The Grotto

Permit required: No

The Grotto is a stunning attraction at Bruce Peninsula Park in Tobermory. Many people acclaim that The Grotto is also one of the most popular and beautiful attractions in Ontario. Located along the Georgian Bay shoreline, this distinct spot will add a lot to your pictures. The Grotto is a stunning expanse including Indian Head Cove, a cave with a clear blue pool of water inside, and it can get incredibly busy in the summer months. People should visit the spot during the weekday to take pictures, which is usually when the area is less busy.
