Experience an art exhibit

The Ones We Met: Inuit Traditional Knowledge and the Franklin Expedition, which is on display at the Bradley Museum Anchorage Galleries from now until Apr. 16, “explores the historic Franklin Expedition through the lens of Inuit traditional knowledge.”

The exhibit features an audio-visual station and animated map and displays the retellings of Inuit traditional knowledge (Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit), and the modern archaeological research that helped to locate the wrecks of ships from the Franklin Expedition (Sir John Franklin’s 1845 attempt to locate the Northwest Passage).

Enjoy a live show

A Valentine’s Day comedy and magic show is being hosted at the Rec Room at Square One in Mississauga on Feb. 14.

The show will feature three professional comedians and comedy magician Matt Disero.

The event will begin at 7:30 p.m. and tickets start at $25.

Go for an outdoor skate

Skating is always a good idea, especially at Celebration Square, where you can skate on the City’s largest outdoor ice rink. The ice rink is open from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

And, if you’re feeling adventurous and want to go skating somewhere else, the City also has over 30 natural rinks to choose from.

Go on a date at Illumi

For those who haven’t gotten a chance to check out this light, sound and multimedia festival called Illumi, Valentine’s Day may be a good opportunity to do so.

The event is located at 7174 Derrycrest Dr. and features more than 20 million lights separated into 14 universes. Each universe features music and its own theme, making it a fun and immersive experience for a Valentine’s Day date, an outing with friends or even a solo night out.
