5 Things to do on Christmas Day in Brampton

Published December 17, 2018 at 8:05 pm

While Christmas Day is typically associated with hours of family time, not everyone celebrates December 25 the same way. Some people do all their eating and gift exchanging on Christmas Eve and many don’t celebrate the holiday at all (or at least not in the traditional way).

For that reason, it’s good to remember that there a ton of activities you can enjoy with friends and family on Christmas Day that don’t involve presents or a big turkey dinner.

Here are five things you can do on Christmas Day in Brampton:

5) Go out for Lunch and Dinner (because not all restaurants are closed on Christmas Day)

Popular restaurants such as Mandarin, Tandoori Flame and Brar Sweets are all open for both lunch and dinner on Christmas Day. All three offer buffet-style meals that will satisfy even the pickiest of eaters in your family. They also truly showcase the diverse food culture that exists within the Flower City. We would suggest you call ahead to ensure availability for you and your family. 4) Catch a Movie Silvercity Brampton is open on Christmas Day, so why not celebrate by checking out some of the season’s hottest movies. Check showtimes here.3) Go Skating! Having snow during Christmas is certainly something we don’t experience every year, so take advantage by indulging in the awesome skate parks that Brampton has to offer. Skate through the trees of the beautiful Gage Park in downtown Brampton (information on rentals here) or visit the skating trail at Chinguacousy Park which is 2,000 square metres of winter fun (skate rentals and food trailers available on-site) or the Mount Pleasant skating rink.2) Make a Donation The Christmas season is all about giving, and what better way to celebrate than helping provide someone less fortunate a chance to celebrate Christmas? The Knights Table is an organization in Brampton that serves the needs of people dealing with issues of poverty and homelessness within Peel Region, and is currently looking for donations for families in our community this Christmas. You can host a toy or food drive, donate gift cards for older children, sponsor a family in need, or make a financial donation. You can find more information here or by giving Knights Table a call.  1) Go Tobogganing When it comes to fun winter activities, you can’t forget tobogganing. It’s simple, highly enjoyable, and unlike other winter hobbies such as skating or skiing, you don’t need to practice much first – you just hop on for a ride and let gravity do all the work for you. So if you’re looking for some great tobogganing hills in Brampton, look no further than our own great city. For a list of Brampton’s best hills, click here.
