Toronto Pearson is Canada’s busiest airport in terms of passenger traffic and North America’s second-largest for international traffic.
Fifty-four airlines fly to more than 180 destinations around the world, said Erica Vella, a spokesperson for the airport.
“From London, Ont. to Manila, Philippines, there are a range of flight options and destinations for passengers travelling through Toronto Pearson,” Vella said.
Out of all those options, Pearson Airport has compiled a list of the five shortest and five longest flight routes from the airport.
Here is a look at the five shortest flights from Toronto Pearson:
5. Detroit, Michigan
Flights to Detroit from Toronto are offered by multiple airlines.
YYZ to DTW covers a distance of 338 km.
It takes around one hour and 15 minutes to one hour and 18 minutes.
Detroit is one of two international destinations on the list of the shortest flights from Pearson.
4. Windsor, Ontario
And so it makes sense then that Windsor, just across the border from Detroit, is also one of the shortest routes from Pearson.
An Air Canada flight from YYZ to YQG covers 315 km.
It takes one hour and 11 minutes.
3. Cleveland, Ohio
Operated by Air Canada and United, a flight to Cleveland takes one hour and four minutes.
The distance between Toronto Pearson and Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is 312 km.
That’s just a few kilometres shy of a flight to Windsor.
2. North Bay, Ontario
Air Canada offers direct flights to North Bay from Pearson.
It’s the only flight on this list that heads north.
Travelling the 304 km-route takes 58 minutes.
1. London, Ontario
The shortest flight from Pearson takes just 48 minutes.
Operated by Air Canada, the flight from YYZ to YXU takes the top spot.
It covers a distance of 132 km.
