5 of the swankiest houses sold in Ontario in December are located in Mississauga and Oakville

If you feel fancy and have the wallet to match, you might have made a big purchase in either Mississauga or Oakville this past December. 

According to a recent post by real estate website and brokerage Zoocasa, five of the most expensive homes that changed hands in December 2023 were located in Mississauga and Oakville–places where the average home price sits at $951,608 and $1,630,068, respectively. 

Here’s a look at what sold:


1400 Birchview Drive – Mississauga

This five-bedroom, eight-bathroom home in the Clarkson-Lorne Park neighbourhood sold for $4,725,000 after being listed for $4,999,999. The home, which sits on a 100 by 242-foot lot, features over 8,000 square feet of living space, custom granite floors, a chef’s kitchen, a theatre room, a saltwater pool and a hot tub. 


1097 Indian Rd – Mississauga

This six-bedroom, seven-bathroom home sold for $3,720,000 after hitting the market at $3,949,850. Also located in Lorne Park, the home sits on a ravine lot spanning close to two acres and features a sunken living room, family room with outdoor access, gourmet kitchen, spacious rec room and more. 


533 Taplow Cres. – Oakville

This Bronte East home boasts six bedrooms and six bathrooms. Originally listed for $3,399,000, it sold for $3,175,000 last month. The picturesque house features a grand foyer, heated tiles on the ground floor, a gourmet kitchen, a luxurious primary bedroom, an open-riser staircase and more. 


1538 Lorne Park – Mississauga

This Lorne Park home sold for $3,100,000 after being listed for $3,199,888. The house, which features five bedrooms and eight bathrooms, also boasts a sitting room with a walkout to the patio, a custom-built floor-to-ceiling bookcase, a family room with a 20-foot coffered waffle ceiling, a gourmet kitchen, a wood-burning fireplace and more. 


523 Brookside Dr – Oakville

This four-bedroom, five-bathroom house in West Oakville sold for $2,925,000 after being listed for $2,999,900. The custom home is close to Lake Ontario and features an open-concept layout, crown moulding, a chef’s kitchen with built-in appliances, a fully-equipped outdoor kitchen, a gazebo with a fire pit, a saltwater pool and more.
