5 of the most expensive homes sold in April in Ontario

Some of the most expensive homes sold in Ontario last month were all in the GTA and all over $4 million.

Since January, the benchmark price of an Ontario home has been steadily climbing, with the March 2024 benchmark price reaching $882,600, according to the Canadian Real Estate Association.

But the province’s most opulent homes sold at prices well over the benchmark, according to real estate brokerage Zoocasa.

These homes come with luxury features such as home gyms, chef’s kitchens and in-ground pools.

Here are five of the most expensive homes sold in Ontario last month:

188 Roxborough Dr., Toronto

Located on the edge of Chorley Park in Toronto’s affluent Rosedale neighbourhood, this six-bedroom home has 8,300 square feet of space. The primary bedroom has a five-piece ensuite bathroom, a cozy fireplace, and a seating room that overlooks the secluded garden.

This home sold for $15,000,000 on April 9, well over the list price of $11,500,000.

This four-bedroom, six-bathroom home features 12-foot high ceilings in the kitchen and family area. There is a heated pool, a natural wood-burning fireplace and a chef’s kitchen. The house plan even accommodates an elevator path, adding a touch of modern convenience to this luxurious home.

This home sold on April 19 for $7,175,000, just under the $7,680,000 asking price.

This 7,200 square-foot home in southeast Oakville features a custom chef’s kitchen featuring Wolf and Thermador appliances, a separate breakfast room with a servery, a wrought iron open staircase, a massive mud/laundry room and a triple-car garage with an EV charging station.

The backyard oasis features a full-size Jameson pool, a built-in jacuzzi spa, an outdoor covered lounge, and a covered barbecue area.

This home sold for $6,800,000 on April 17, under the $7,100,000 list price.

135 Rochester Ave., Toronto

Located in the heart Of Lawrence Park South, this home has four bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and heated floors. There is a home office with walnut panelled walls and an adjoining 900-bottle wine cellar with a cooling unit.

This home sold for $6,410,000 on April 14, just under the $6,780,000 list price.

This four-bedroom home in the Rathwood neighbourhood of Mississauga features four fireplaces, five skylights, and a 40-foot foyer with a designer three-storey chandelier.

There is a separate heated garden office, a custom timber pergola and a three-car garage with an epoxy floor.

This home sold for $4,140,000 on April 13, below the list price of $4,288,000.
