While months of lockdowns and restrictions plagued this year, there were still some businesses that managed to thrive despite all the adversity.

Despite the struggle many restaurateurs faced, there were several additions to Brampton’s culinary scene this year.

These are five restaurants that opened in Brampton in 2021.

Holy Shakes:

With the year everyone had, it makes sense why a new desert spot was able to succeed in Brampton. Who wouldn’t need a little comfort food to help them get through these dark times.

Holy Shakes serves more than 100 gourmet fusion milkshakes in Retro Glass Milk bottles. Ingredients include milk (including dairy-free options), ice cream, fruit, nuts, and candies (including Mars, Twix, Reese’s, Smarties, and Oreo).

Nawab Saab:

Brampton North MP Ruby Sahota was even on hand for the grand opening of this new restaurant that serves a myriad of dishes, including kebabs, tikkas, Haleem, and biryani, made with chicken, lamb, fish, and shrimp, as well as vegetarian options and even soups and wraps.

Daniel’s Chai Bar:

What originally stared as T By Daniel in 2014, Daniel’s Chai Bar is back in Brampton after the business moved exclusively online shortly after 2018, and with it comes the return of the iconic Lion Chai Latte.

Dosa Den:

This Indian restaurant that specializes in vegetarian food opened in north Brampton this past year. It offers a wide variety of authentic Indian dishes, and, considering many are available for under $10, it’s good for your taste buds and your wallet.

Lot 25:

This menu for this new restaurant in downtown Brampton includes a 10 oz New York Steak, Alfredo Pasta, and Vegetable Stir Fry, and it even boasts a second floor and rooftop patio, both of which can be booked for private events.
