Are you craving sweet, salty, spicy or savoury? Maybe a little bit of everything? If you’re having a difficult time deciding what to eat, here are some new openings in Mississauga that you may want to try.

Sun Chinese Cuisine

Sun Chinese Cuisine located at 3480 Platinum Dr in Mississauga recently opened it’s doors to customers and offers traditional Chinese dishes including braised beef, hand-pulled ramen with vegetables, tofu and cucumber salads, lanzhou niangpi, tea eggs, potato floss and more.

While there are various options for guests to choose from, the restaurant has the most selections when it comes to their noodles. From beef noodles with pickled mustard greens to lanzhou beef noodles, there is a little something for everyone.

Flaming Claypot

If you’re looking to awaken all your senses with a kick of spice, this  Sri Lankan and South Indian fusion restaurant could be the place, as it promises to bring its guests “a little taste of Ceylon.”

The restaurant located at 1510 Drew Rd had its grand opening on Mar. 11 2023, and  has already garnered several positive reviews online which mention its tasty food served in clay pots and friendly service from staff.

A review from another user even stated it “embodied authentic Tamil food” and was served in clay pots which gave them a taste of home.

The restaurant’s menu features popular items such as masala dosa and mutton biryani.

Tomars Doner

Tomars Doner, is located at 94b Lakeshore Rd. East and specializes in Turkish take-out including rotisserie-style halal doner food.

The restaurant features several menu items with doner meats which have been cooked on a vertical rotisserie.

These include doner poutine, salad and garlic potatoes, boxes, sandwiches, pitas, wraps, bowls, burgers and more.

The menu also offers an array of appetizers such as lentil soup, samosas, rice, french fries and more.

And, for those with a sweet tooth, might want to try baklava, a dessert which is made of filo pastry and filled with nuts.

Toro Toro Sushi + Poke

Toro Toro Sushi + Poke, is a Japanese restaurant that provides “premium, fast-casual sushi and poke.”

In fact several celebrities have also been anticipating its opening, which finally happened on Mar. 11 2023.

You read that right, a number of celebrities, including David Hasselhoff, Sugith Varughese (Mr. Mehta from Kim’s Convenience), Colony Reeves from Selling Tampa and Georges St. Pierre, have all expressed their excitement about the new opening on social media.

Located at 4052 Brickstone Mews, unit 1 —the restaurant offers options such as maki, nigiri, poke, sushi burritos, tacos and pizza and even aburi, which is flame-seared sushi.

The Fire Spot

If you’re not satisfied after your meal and feel like grabbing a dessert, you might want drop by the fire spot for some sweet treats.

The shop combines classic and cultural flavours to create fusion desserts and is located at 3515 Odyssey Dr. Unit 61.

The menu features items such as New York-style Cheesecake, cappuccinos, lattes, bubble teas, crepes and waffles that can be customized with toppings such as white chocolate ice cream and warm apple crisp.

The cafe even offers an option for guests to order a half crepe with a half waffle along with their choice of ice cream and toppings to give them the best of both worlds.

In terms of fusion desserts, the Fire Spot offers items such as warm gulab jamun with white chocolate ice cream and caramel sauce.

And, for those who like milkshakes, the dessert spot’s menu features flavours such as Cream n Goodies, Mango Tango and Espresso Yourself.
