5 neighbourhoods with the cheapest homes in the Greater Toronto Area last month

House-hunters looking for a deal may want to check out the latest list of the most and least expensive neighbourhoods in which to buy homes in the Greater Toronto Area.

Each month, real estate platform Wahi lists neighbourhoods with the most and least expensive homes. Wahi used the median home sale prices in GTA neighbourhoods with five or more sales in October to create the lists.

This month, the top two least expensive neighbourhoods are in Peel Region.

Brampton’s Queen Street Corridor tops the list with a median sold price of $448,000. Anchored by Bramalea City Centre and Donald M. Chinguacousy Park, this area features commercial areas, high-rise buildings and residential housing.

Five homes were sold in the Queen Street Corridor in October with an average of 34 days on the market.

Second on the list is Fairview in Mississauga, where the median sold price was $472,500 in October. Located in the City Centre area, Fairview is home to some of the city’s tallest condo buildings.

Eight homes sold in Fairview in October and properties spent an average of 40 days on the market.

The most expensive neighbourhoods were spread across the GTA last month.

Topping the list is York Mills in North York, which had a median sold price of $3,565,000. Centred around Yonge Street and York Mills Road, this area includes enclaves known for luxury homes such as St. Andrews-Windflieds.

Homes here took an average of 37 days to sell in York Mills and 10 properties sold in October.

Toronto’s trendy Annex neighbourhood was second on the list with a median sold price of $3,315,000. Homes here took an average of 47 days to sell and 11 properties sold in October.
