One of the best things about living in Burlington is the access to a wide variety of great food. From quick, family-style diners to the full white tablecloth experience, there’s something for everyone.

Here are five of the most popular stories about new dining spots opening in the city in 2022.

1. New joint that worships the burger opens in Burlington

One of the fastest growing high-end burger joints is Burger’s Priest and customers have been flocking to the 28th Canadian location ever since it was announced it would be locating at Appleby Line and New St.

Inspired by “beef that has never met a freezer” acolytes believing a “simpler burger is a better burger” have discovered the path to burger redemption.

2. US donut chain picks Burlington as first Canadian location

Not just one of the most popular good stories, but one of the most well-read of any kind, it seems Burlington residents love a good donut. And that’s why this US chain chose it to be home to its first Canadian location.

Duck Donuts, with its motto of Warm, Delicious and Made-to-Order!, started business in North Carolina and has been growing ever since.

3. Sweet shop perfect for breakfast or dessert

Is it breakfast? Is it dessert? Maybe it’s both at D Spot Dessert Café, which announced Burlington as the new home of one of many new locations they plan to open.

Popular menu items include waffles, pancakes, crepes, ice cream sundaes, cakes, cookies, tasty beverages and more. But they also offer also savoury items such as pizza, poutine, burgers and sandwiches.

4. Elegant, fine dining at new downtown restaurant

Burlington is about more than just fast food and desserts and a new downtown restaurant, Buvette, offers local residents a full, fine-dining experience.

Promising “a dining experience unlike any other,” Buvette boasts an indoor, glass solarium dining room with an entire wall of windows that stretches up behind plush, white booth seating to reach the ceiling and allow sunlight and warmth into the dining room.

5. Authentic family-style dining at Sam’s Grill

Whether you’re craving an authentic Halifax donair, old-fashioned milkshake or one of 13 styles of poutine, the family-style Sam’s Grill has got you covered.

The London-based diner opened it’s doors at New St. and Appleby Line, becoming the sixth location in the franchise.
