Square One is undergoing its biggest expansion since the early 2000s. As you might recall, that was when the iconic square became more of a polygon.

The ever-growing mall is going all out, adding chic and fashion-forward gems like Forever 21, Holt Renfrew and Urban Outfitters. But although those aforementioned stores have gotten significant buzz, they aren’t the only highly anticipated arrivals.

The mall is set to offer shoppers more variety than ever before, so here’s what you can expect to see open over the next year.

Kate Spade

This New York brand has 80 shops in the United States and 100 internationally. Now they’ll have 101. The higher-end shop offers handbags, clothing, jewellery, shoes, stationery, eyewear, baby products, fragrances, tabletop items, bedding and gifts. So, if you’re looking for a little bit of everything and want to keep your look chic, Kate Spade might be the place to go.

Spirit Halloween

(taking over Target)

The million-dollar question was what was going to take over the empty Target locations and the answer is Spirit Halloween. For now, at least. Halloween is just around the corner and you can get your costumes and haunted house party accoutrement at Square One. For those who don’t know, Spirit is a pop-up Halloween store that only surfaces once a year. If you live in City Centre and are in the market for some scary décor, you won’t have to travel far to procure some faux cobwebs.

Marc Cain

Square One is really upping the fashion game in Mississauga and Marc Cain is another retailer that is set to hit the mall. The women’s fashion operation is a premium brand that only offers European-sourced goods. All their fabrics are sourced from Italy and every thing is put together in Germany.

Muji

Muji’s second store will be coming to Square One and the brand is all about keeping it simple. Muji is a Japanese retailer that sells a ton of household goods. They carry more than 7,000 items in over 700 stores worldwide, with products ranging from clothing to household goods to food. From the beginning, Muji has been committed to streamlining processes and simplifying the selection of materials and packaging to provide good quality products at reasonable prices.

Stuart Weitzman

This is a luxury brand for women that sells boots, shoes and bags. The website says it best: “For more than 25 years, Stuart Weitzman has been designing shoes that look as good as they feel and feel as good as they look. Through this carefully-engineered process, each and every pair of Stuart Weitzman shoes is designed to achieve the perfect fit.” You might have heard the name Stuart Wiseman because, since 2002, he has provided one-of-a-kind, “million dollar” shoes to an Oscar nominee to wear at the Academy Awards. Now, this Oscar-associated brand is at Square One.
