5 men charged with drug and firearm related offences in Brampton

A group of men from Brampton face firearm and drug-related charges, in addition to a breach of other conditions.

On Friday (Nov. 3) at 12 p.m., the Specialized Enforcement Bureau (SEB) and Peel Regional Police located three men in the area of Highway 50 and Rutherford Road in the City of Vaughan.

As a result of an ongoing investigation by the SEB, three men were arrested and charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, police say.

According to investigators, a search of the individuals revealed they were in possession of a FN 509 9mm pistol, equipped with a 24-round extended magazine that was loaded with 20 rounds.

Officers say, the accused parties were informed of the additional charges.

Later that day, around 3:44 p.m., SEB officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Mountainash Road and Bovaird Drive East in Brampton.

As a result of the investigation two men were arrested and charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Authorities say, a search of the individuals led to the discovery of two extended magazines with a 24-round capacity, containing 9mm ammunition. Both men were informed of the additional charge.

Amandeep Singh, (21) from Brampton faces eleven charges including possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, two counts of failing to comply with release order and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Ramanpreet Singh, (30), from Brampton, faces six charges including possession of a prohibited device or ammunition knowing its possession is unauthorized.

Maninder Singh, (21) from Brampton, faces six charges including unauthorized possession of a firearm and occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was firearm.

Swaranpreet Singh, (20), from Brampton, faces charges of unauthorized possession of firearm and possession of a prohibited device or ammunition knowing its possession is unauthorized.

Jobanpreet Singh, (20) from Brampton faces charges of  unauthorized possession of firearm and possession of a prohibited device or ammunition knowing its possession is unauthorized.

All individuals were held for a bail hearing and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
