Here are the 5 hottest restaurants in Mississauga for the week of March 1-7, based on the number of organic page views and searches these restaurants received on insauga.com.
5) Spice Lounge
Spice Lounge, located in the heart of Port Credit at Lakeshore and Stavebank, has some truly memorable gems. It has an extensive bar and food menu and serves up some refreshing, if not super sweet, sangria. Spice Lounge tends to get packed in the evenings, but the servers never fail to remain attentive. When it comes to after-hours fun, the atmosphere is almost (just almost) everything. As a chic destination, Spice Lounge succeeds in spades, making the most of its modest space with elegant stone, red accents, sexy mood lighting and a chic backlit bar. The high tables and dim lights scream, “date night” and they have live (but non-intrusive) music. It’s perfect for late-night drinks and apps for both friends and couples.
Once you walk into either of the brand's two Mississauga locations, you can tell this place did not spare a dime. It feels like you are walking into a rustic Italian home to have some authentic Italian grub. Goodfellas' Streetsville location was Mississauga's very first restaurant offering authentic Neapolitan wood oven pizza. The menu offers authentic Romano pizza and homemade pastas that are all freshly made in-house. The menu also includes appetizers, salads, fish and meat entrees and desserts. Goodfellas also boasts an extensive Italian wine selection that was specifically chosen to pair beautifully with the dishes on the menu.
The relatively new Streetsville place offers a great patio, delicious food and scrumptious churros. As far as tacos go, these are some hefty tacos! They do not skimp out on the fish here and it’s a sight to behold. Two beautifully battered pieces of fish PER taco with toppings that hide every one of those pieces! It may not be accompanied by any rice or beans but you probably don’t need them with this meal. Dressed with a delicious spicy mayo and a side of deliciously dark salsa, your flavour-buds will be sure to say ‘wow, what was that?’
2) Tomo Sushi
This gem, which also operates a location in Richmond Hill, recently took over the space once occupied by Sushi Tei. While many residents were sad to see Sushi Tei go, they should be happy that a Japanese place this good took its spot. This place, which offers a small, complimentary noodle dish at the start of your meal, has some of the best and freshest sushi and sashimi in Mississauga. It also offers omakase, which means customers can allow the chef to customize a meal for them. This isn’t a sushi place you want to miss.
1) Laari Adda
Laari Adda, an Indian and Pakistani street food restaurant, recently took shape in the old Bistro Narra location in the Thomas St. and Winston Churchill area and it's serving up some very fine South Asian cuisine. The restaurant, which is open late, offers dine-in, takeout and catering service. It also offers a bright and colourful interior that draws upon the vibrant decor frequently encountered in India and Pakistan. As far as food goes, restaurant operators say that “Laari Addas in Pakistan are famous for delicious street food and that is exactly what we are bringing back with a modern twist.” The resto offers delicious butter chicken, great service and exceptional ambience.
