As the pandemic housing boom in Mississauga and across Canada wanes, buyers can find some lower prices in the city.

Some experts predict a bottoming out of home prices in the spring of 2023. In a report this month, RBC suggested Ontario’s benchmark prices will decrease by around 16 per cent. And recent housing reports indicate a downward trend.

In Mississauga, home prices dropped 6.8 per cent from $1,522,200 in the second quarter of 2022 to $1,418,400 in the third quarter.

And while it will cost more than a million for most single-family homes, there are a few out there, if you are willing to do some work, that sell for below the average.

Here are five homes that recently sold for under $1 million:

This detached brick home looks solid on the outside but like the above house, it is in need of some repairs or renovations. However, the location in the heart of Streetsville and a deep lot with mature trees make it attractive.

It was on the market for 27 days, selling for $960,000, a bit under the $1,299,000 asking price.
