It’s officially spooky season and although Halloween may be different this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there are some family-friendly events for your little ones to take part in this year.

1) Bradley Museum Halloween Harvest

Put on your costume and join Bradley Museum for a safe, outdoor tour experience where you’ll participate in old fashioned Halloween and harvest traditions. Groups from the same household will travel around the site visiting activity stations where you’ll enjoy heritage demonstrations, physically distanced games and warm apple cider. Visitors will receive a special activity bag with crafts and treats to take home. One ticket/timeslot can accommodate one household of up to 10 people.

2) The Riverwood Conservancy

Riverwood Conservancy is hosting a virtual program on their Facebook page and will explore the fascinating lives of “creepy” animals that are sure to give you goosebumps! The event is free, and you can click here for more information.

3) Square One Haunted Drive-Thru

Jestr Events recently announced that it has partnered with Mississauga’s most iconic shopping centre to create Square One’s Haunted Drive-Thru, a COVID-safe event that will allow visitors to enjoy some traditional fun from the safety of their vehicles. The drive-thru will be located in parking lot 5, near Holt Renfrew. The event will kick off on Oct. 21 and run until Halloween (Oct. 31). Family shows will take place before 7:00 pm and the scarier events will kick off after 7:00 pm.

4) Halloween Spooktacular Kids Scavenger Hunt

The Streetsville BIA is hosting a Halloween Spooktacular Kids Scavenger Hunt from October 19 to 31 and is encouraging little ones to keep their eyes peeled for jack-o-lantern decals displayed in 33 local shop windows for a chance to win a Halloween treat basket.

5) Dixie Outlet Mall Halloween drive-in theatre

is celebrating Halloween in a COVID-friendly way by hosting a spooky Halloween drive-in theatre at their shopping centre. The event will take place on Halloween night. This Halloween, they will be showing 1984’s Ghostbusters, an iconic flick you don’t want to miss. Doors open at 6:30 PM and all proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to New Haven Learning Centre. Dixie Outlet Mall says all details will be on their Instagram page.
