It’s that time of year again! The time when tiny, bespectacled children and elderly grandmothers with walkers are trampled underfoot in Amurika as people stampede towards discounted DVDs and toilet paper.

Over in our more northern neck of the woods, the stampedes are fewer despite the deals being pretty superb. This year, Black Friday falls on Nov. 29.

Here are five places to check out for some great Black Friday deals!

Erin Mills Town Centre

Erin Mills Town Centre, the mall known for its very expensive (and very beautiful) reno, is celebrating Black Friday by offering an entire week of promotions. You can Scratch and Win your purchase on Saturday and Sunday from 3 pm-5 pm and weekdays from 6 pm-8 pm, near the centre court. Shoppers can present their Black Friday Week shopping receipts of $100 or more and get a scratch card for their chance to win the value of their purchase back. Shoppers can also win TV’s, gift cards and other prizes. This promotion is on from Nov 22 to Nov 29.

Shoppers can pick up a list of exclusive Black Friday specials at Guest Services all week long, as well. Also, Z103.5 Live Radio will be on-site on Friday, Nov. 29, from 4 pm to 9 pm. Shoppers can meet DJ’s Pina & Tony Monaco.

Best Deal: Scratch and Win

Square One

With a ton of new stores, restaurants and hotspots (think The Food District, The Rec Room and Indigo), Square One will be the place to be this holiday season. This year, the shopping centre will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Black Friday. Square One is also hosting a gift card bonus from Monday, Nov. 25 to Friday, Nov. 29. You can get a 5 per cent bonus gift card when you buy a $500 or more Square One Gift Card.

As for other store promotions, you can see all of those here

Best Deal: The gift card

Small Stores and Malls

If you want to support more local retailers, check out Shop the Neighbourhood. It’ll let you know what’s happening with smaller stores in Mississauga. If you have a shutterbug on your list, you should note that the beloved camera store Henry’s has some great pre-Black Friday deals. You can also score some great deals at your local Best Buy. You should also lookup Black Friday deals for Mississauga on Red Tag Deals here.

Dixie Outlet Mall

If you’re a big Dixie Outlet Mall enthusiast, you’ll be happy to know that the mall has a few Black Friday deals on tap. You can see the promos here, and they include deals at Rogers, QE Home, Nygard and more. For the fifth year in a row, the popular discount destination is bringing back the Cash Cube – a 6ft x 4ft interactive touch screen cube. The cube will give away up to $1,000 every hour. According to Dixie Mall, there’s a guaranteed winner every hour. Total daily giveaway value is $6,000.

Best Deal: The Cash Cube

Heartland Town Centre

Since Heartland is a sprawling outdoor shopping district rather than a mall, deals may vary. This year, be sure to use HTC’s app to help you better navigate the centre (with no data, no less). As far as deals and promotions, shoppers can enjoy deals at Beanwise, PetsMart, Ren’s Pets Depot, Calvin Klein, Nordstrom Rack, Roots, The Outlet by Harry Rosen and more

Best Deal: Beanwise – up to 40 per cent off espresso machines
