Development plans for Square One Shopping Centre are progressing with a proposal for a 47-storey mixed-use tower.
The mixed-use rental tower is proposed for 100 City Centre Dr., according to a site plan approval application submitted to the City of Mississauga.
The tower is part of the Square One District huge redevelopment plan on surface parking lots around the mall.
The 47-storey tower would be built on a parking lot at the south side of Rathburn Road West, east of Duke of York Boulevard.

While the current application is limited to the 47-storey tower, future plans could include the full block with five buildings ranging from 23 to 56 storeys tall, according to an Urban Toronto story.

This development is part of a much larger, multi-decade revisioning of the mall property.
First announced in early 2020, the long-term plans include “the transformation of 130 acres around the Square One Shopping Centre into an 18 million square foot master planned mixed-use neighbourhood of the future.”
The long-term vision for Square One District is 37 towers and over 18,000 homes with office and retail space, according to Oxford Properties Group.
The development would be built “steps away from transit, grocery, restaurants, shopping and nightlife” in a “safe and walkable neighbourhood.”
“This already energetic lifestyle complex will be enhanced with new eateries, open public spaces, activated streets, and vibrant piazzas,” the Oxford Properties description reads.
