Five fun and festive things you can do in Downtown Brampton this holiday season

For the first time in two years, there are no COVID-related restrictions in place going into this year’s holiday season–and that means Brampton residents can hit the city’s downtown core for shopping, dining and partying.

This year, the Downtown Brampton BIA is inviting everyone to explore everything the bustling neighbourhood has to offer, including independent shops, popular restaurants, pop-up markets, Christmas markets and more.

To make things even easier, all parking in Downtown Brampton municipal lots is free, with over 1,500 spaces spread across five lots.

Here’s a look at some events you won’t want to miss this holiday season:

ShopDowntownBrampton2Win

If you want to support local retailers and potentially win a little holiday shopping money in the process, you’ll want to participate in this initiative. This special event involves $1,000 weekly draws, where $500 will go to a shopper and $500 will go to a local business. A grand prize of $1,500 is up for grabs. To enter, simply shop at local businesses and save receipts over $20 (including taxes). After that, upload your receipts weekly and fill out the form here. Draws will take place between now and Dec. 18. The more you shop, the more likely you are to win!

Shine Bright Christmas Market

On Saturday, Nov. 26, residents can check out the Shine Bright Christmas Market, a festive event that will take place in Garden Square from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm. The day-long event will feature more than 18 vendors and artisans selling everything from gourmet food and cosmetics to winter fashion and accessories. Attendees will also be able to see Santa and a number of talented elves who will be entertaining everyone with juggling, magic, balloons and more.

Shine Bright Pop-Up Markets in Vivian Lane

If you can’t make it out to the Shine Bright Christmas Market on Saturday, don’t fret–you can check out the Shine Bright Pop-Up Markets in Vivian Lane on Sunday, Nov. 27, Saturday, Dec. 3, Saturday, Dec. 10 and Saturday, Dec. 17. There will be artisan and food vendors selling tasty treats and fun products, as well as a free photo booth, Santa (from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm), buskers and carolers.
