A four-day Greek festival starts today in St. Catharines.
The Niagara Greek Festival celebrates the food, culture and music of Greece.
The full line-up of events starts today (Sept. 1) at the St. Katharine Greek Orthodox Church in St. Catharines.
There will be Greek dancers performing throughout the festival, and a DJ or live Greek band each day.
Vendors selling Greek goods and other items will be in the Agora marketplace.
The event is also family friendly with a Kidz Zone featuring activities and inflatable bounce houses.
And, of course, there will be plenty of food with classic Greek dishes such as moussaka and souvlaki along with beer, wine and desserts.
The St. Katharine Greek Orthodox Church will be open for viewing and informational tours.
The event, on the church property at 585 Niagara St., is free and starts Friday (Sept. 1) at 3 p.m. and continues to 10 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, the festival runs from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Then Labour Day Monday, it runs from 3 p.m to 8 p.m.
There is free parking on the church property, and remote parking, with courtesy shuttle buses, available at Holy Cross Catholic High School at 460 Linwell Rd.
