Arrests made after 94-year-old Hamilton man gave 'all he had' to scammers

The third person arrested and charged in connection with the recent Ezee Clean Car Wash robbery in Stoney Creek will have their first court appearance today.

Hamilton Police (HPS) also said that Homicide Unit is leading this particular criminal investigation “(d)ue to the serious nature of the injuries” suffered by a witness who suspects hit with a truck during the break-and-enter robbery. They also said “a fourth individual is known to be involved” in the crime.

Six weeks ago this Sunday, shortly after 7 a.m., HPS received multiple calls about a large truck driving into the Ezee Clean Car Wash located at Hwy. 8 and Green Rd. in Stoney Creek.

“During the incident, the suspects intentionally hit a witness with a pick-up truck causing the man to be seriously injured,” HPS states.

Maxwell Swiston, 28, and Jason Ward, 45, were charged in connection with the robbery and made their first court appearances in mid-February.

Thursday, Louis Lavont Alexander, a 55-year-old Hamilton resident, was arrested. Police executed a search warrant at his residence, says HPS.

Alexander was to appear in court today (March 17) in his first appearance in response to the following half-dozen charges:

  • Committing a breaking and entering (three counts)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 (two counts)
  • Arson — Damage to Property

Any resident of the Hamilton area who has information that may support the continued investigation should contact HPS Homicide Unit Det. Robert DiIanni (905-546-3836).
