38-year-old man charged for sexual assault in Hamilton

A 38-year-old Hamilton man has been charged after a pair of women were sexually assaulted on a trail behind McMaster University.
Yesterday (Sept 3) at approximately 7:30 p.m., two women were walking on Chegwin Trail when they were approached by an unknown man.
Police say the man engaged in conversation with the women for a short amount of time before he sexually assaulted both of them. The victims managed to fight off the suspect themselves.
The man was located a short time later and arrested thanks to the cooperation between Hamilton Police, McMaster Security Services, and members of the community.
38-year-old Micheal Smith is charged with two counts of sexual assault.
