36 new COVID-19 cases reported in Halton, over half in Burlington

The Halton Region (Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills) is reporting 36 new cases of COVID-19 today (Sept. 21), with over half reported in Burlington.

Of the 36 new cases, 19 have been reported in Burlington, nine in Oakville, seven in Milton and one in Halton Hills.

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 19,275 cases reported in Halton and 161 of them are currently active.

Burlington has 60 active cases, Oakville has 42, Milton has 35 and Halton Hills has four.

According to the region’s COVID-19 dashboard, 860,610 total doses of vaccine have been administered in the region to date. The dashboard indicates that 85 per cent of Halton residents have been jabbed with one dose of the vaccine and 81 per cent are fully vaccinated.

One of the three outbreaks in the region has been declared over and there are now just two ongoing active workplace outbreaks that have accounted for 20 cases of the virus.
