3 top destinations have cheap flights from Ontario this summer

Those making plans for a spring or summer holiday may want to check out three popular destinations with cheap flights for sale now.

Three of Canada’s most popular travel destinations have great prices available for booking this summer, according to Skyscanner, a travel search aggregator.

These three places have also seen airfare price drops when comparing bookings made for January or February 2024 for departures in June, July or August 2024 against bookings in January or February 2023 for departures in June, July or August 2023.

Here are the three destinations:

Mumbai, India

Canadians have been booking travel to Mumbai 145 per cent more than they were at the same time in 2023. The price of travel to Mumbai has decreased 18 per cent since the same period last year.

As India’s largest city, Mumbai is the heart of the Bollywood film industry and a financial centre.

“Mumbai is an amazing destination, with a great food scene, lots of history and amazing culture,” says Laura Lindsay, Skyscanner travel expert. “Canadians are particularly interested in food when they travel,  and they’ll love the Vada Pav and Dosa in Mumbai. I love visiting the bustling Colaba district – everyone must visit the Gateway of India while there.”

The price for a one-way ticket in May starts at around $650 from Pearson Airport in Mississauga. In June, prices go up with the cheapest one-way flights starting at $860.

Dublin, Ireland

Canadians have been booking travel to Dublin 68 per cent more than at the same time in 2023. And the price of travel to Ireland has decreased by 20 per cent since the same period last year.

As the capital of the Republic of Ireland, Dublin is known for its fantastic pubs and historic buildings including Dublin Castle.

“Experience Dublin’s vibrant streets, lively festivals, and outdoor charm in the warm embrace of summer,” says Lindsay. “From exploring historic landmarks to savouring a pint in a traditional pub garden, there’s no shortage of delightful activities to enjoy.”

A one-way flight from John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport starts at $377 in July.

Orlando, Florida

Canadians have been booking travel to Orlando 126 per cent more than they were at the same time in 2023. The price of travel to Orlando has decreased 20 per cent since the same period last year.

Beyond Disney World, Orlando boasts 12 theme parks including Universal Orlando. It’s a great destination for families and much less expensive than heading overseas.

A one-way flight from Pearson Airport starts at around $150 in June.
