3 teens charged in connection with Mississauga carjacking

Three teenagers, two of whom are under 18 years old, are all facing a string of charges in connection with an alleged carjacking that occurred in Mississauga on Tuesday night (Sept. 7).
Peel Regional Police says its investigation ascertained that a the victim was sitting in his vehicle around 9 p.m. in the area of Goreway Drive and Derry Road East. one of the suspects approached the victim, produced an imitation firearm and demanded the victim exit the vehicle. The victim complied, the suspect entered the driver’s side, and the two remaining suspects entered the vehicle and fled the area. No injuries were sustained as a result of the incident.
At approximately 10:54 p.m., all three suspects were located and arrested in the area of Erin Mills Parkway and Credit Valley Road. They were also found to be in possession of offence related property at the time of the arrest.
Treyvaun Gomez, 19, of Mississauga has been charged with robbery, wearing a disguise with intent, and using an imitation firearm.
A 16-year-old from Brampton has also been charged with robbery, wearing a disguise with intent, and using an imitation firearm.
A 14-year-old from Mississauga has been charged with breach of recognizance, robbery, wearing a disguise with intent, and using an imitation firearm.

Youths under age 18 cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
All charged parties were held pending a bail hearing and appeared in a Brampton court on Wednesday (Sept. 8).
