A Mississauga man and two other people were charged with driving-related offences during a RIDE spot check by Aurora OPP early Saturday morning.

Police say a 44-year-old man from Mississauga was charged with impaired driving. He received a 90-day licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.

He’s scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Meanwhile, two other drivers received three-day licence suspensions, though police didn’t say what offences they’re alleged to have committed.

According to Peel Regional Police, driving under the influence poses a significant risk to the driver, passengers, other motorists and pedestrians.

Exceeding the legal Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) limit of 80+mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood constitutes a criminal offence.

Police also note that drivers who refuse to provide a breath sample when requested by law enforcement can be charged with a criminal offence.
