Three dead, two in critical condition after tragic collision near Beaverton

Durham Regional Police investigators are on the scene of a tragic collision that claimed three lives today in Brock Township.

Police first reported the incident shortly before noon saying a serious collision occurred on Regional Rd. 23, just north of Thorah Concession Rd. 4.

The head-on collision involved two vehicles and resulted in the death of all three occupants of one vehicle, two males and one female.

One female adult and a six-year-old child were in the other vehicle and suffered serious injuries.

The child was observed being airlifted from the scene by Ornge medical transportation.

Members of the Durham Police Collision Investigation Unit are currently on scene gathering more information about the incident.

Regional Rd. 23 remains closed just north of Thorah Concession Rd. to allow crews to work.

Residents and motorists are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes wherever possible.
