27-year-old Mississauga man’s shooting death under investigation by Peel homicide detectives

Police in Mississauga say they are treating the death of a 27-year-old man yesterday as a murder investigation, although they say they have no suspect information to share.
Around 5:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Mississauga emergency services received a call to check on the well-being of a male in the area of Formenta Avenue and Aquitane Avenue. The responding officers from Peel Regional Police located a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim died at the scene as a result of the injuries he sustained.
The victim has been identified as Asad Ahmed Siddiqui, a 27-year-old man from Mississauga. Peel police’s Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau are now investigating.
While there is no suspect information available, the Peel police believe the death was an isolated incident.

The Peel police are asking for the public’s assistance as they investigate the fatal shooting. They are asking anyone with information on this incident, surveillance or dashcam footage that may have captured the moments leading up to, during, or after the incident to contact investigators at 905-453-2121 ext. 3205.
