A 26-year-old Brampton woman is facing charges after allegedly using a fraudulent COVID-19 document upon arriving from an international flight at Toronto Pearson Airport in Mississauga.

Peel police say that on March 29, 2021, a Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officer was inspecting a woman’s entry documents and noticed a negative COVID-19 document that appeared to be fraudulent. The officer called police and had the document reviewed by Public Health.

Police say the woman was arrested and charged with producing a forged document. She was released and is scheduled to appear in court on May 17, 2021.

Once released, she returned to the Public Health Agency of Canada for processing.

Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact the Airport Division Criminal Investigation Bureau at 905-453-3311, ext. 3120.
