One person is dead and two others were injured after a crash on an Ontario highway, police say.
Ontario Provincial Police said that officers responded to a single-vehicle crash at around 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
It happened on Highway 69 in French River, which is south of Sudbury.
OPP said it involved a passenger vehicle that was heading northbound on Highway 69.
One passenger — since identified as a 23-year-old Barrie resident — died at the scene.
The driver and a second passenger were taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The highway was closed in the area for just under nine hours following the collision.
There’s no word on the cause; an investigation is ongoing.
