219 of Ontario’s 1,039 new COVID-19 cases in Mississauga and Brampton

The Region of Peel is reporting 219 new COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday (May 25).

This brings the total for the Region to 108,019 cases. Of these, 104,745 have recovered, while 2,519 are still pending, 2,957 have been hospitalized, and 756 have died.

As of Tuesday, 59.7 per cent of cases are in Brampton, 36 per cent are in Mississauga, and just four per cent are in Caledon.

The median age for cases in Peel is 36, and residents in their 20’s continue to make up most of the cases at 24.5 per cent, followed by those in their 30’s—who make up 17.3 per cent of cases, those in their 40’s—who make up 14.4 per cent, and those in their 50’s who make up 13.9 per cent.

The Province is reporting 1,039 new cases on Tuesday, as well as 33 new deaths. This brings Ontario’s total cases to 524,950.

Additionally, the Province is reporting another 86,927 vaccinations on Monday (May 24), bringing the total number of doses administered to 8,251,642, with 544,288 residents having been fully vaccinated.
