For the first time, global tech conference Collision is bringing an event to Brampton.

The global tech event, Collision Conference is at Toronto’s Enercare Centre from June 17 to 20. The conference attracts over 36,000 participants from more than 118 countries.

The City of Brampton is returning to the event.

But this year the city is also hosting The Gathering, an exclusive pre-conference event for Collision, according to a press release from the City of Brampton. It will be held in Brampton’s Innovation District.

This marks the first time the pre-conference event is being held in North America, the press release notes.

The conference brings eminent speakers and leading tech companies together for learning and networking opportunities in the startup sector.

Approximately 200 startups are expected at Brampton’s Innovation District during the pre-conference event.

Brampton’s Economic Development team, including the Brampton Entrepreneur Centre and its partners, BHive Brampton, Altitude Accelerator, Founder Institute, Algoma University, Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst, and Brampton Venture Zone, will welcome the guests.

“We are thrilled to return to the Collision Conference and to kick off the week-long festivities by hosting The Gathering in our Innovation District,” said Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown.

“As the first North American city in this pivotal role, we take great pride in our vibrant tech community and look forward to showcasing our unwavering commitment to innovation. Hosting such a prestigious event speaks to the Brampton Advantage we continue to create and demonstrates our city’s growing influence across the global technology and innovation landscape.”
