20 year-old Brampton man dead after shooting that happened in Vaughan

A Brampton mas has succumbed his injuries following a shooting in Vaughan.

Investigators with York Regional Police Homicide Unit continue to seek witnesses after the victim involved in a shooting in the City of Vaughan early this morning has succumbed to his injuries.

A media relations officer will attend the scene at approximately 9 p.m. at the south boulevard in front of 200 Interchange Way to provide this update.

On Saturday, September 24, 2022, at approximately 3:30 a.m., police responded to reports of gun shots fired in Interchange Way and Highway 7.

When officers arrived, they located a male victim with gun shot wounds.

The male victim was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The victim has been identified as Moses Alphonso Wright, 20, from the City of Brampton, known by his family and friends as MJ.

Investigators continue to urge potential witnesses in the area at the time of the incident to please come forward to speak with police. Investigators are also seeking any video surveillance from the area or anyone that may have captured dashcam video on the roadways.

Initially it was reported to police that a blue vehicle was possibly involved, however investigators have been unable to confirm that and are asking media to not report this information in order to allow witnesses to report their independent recollection.

Investigation is ongoing.
