Two people suffered injuries following a two-vehicle crash at a busy intersection in Mississauga this morning.

Peel Regional Police say the collision happened shortly before 10 a.m. near Derry Road and Argentia Road in Mississauga.

According to investigators, one person was transported to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries while another was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

Authorities have not provided further details on the victims involved in the crash including their names, ages, and places of residence.

It is not clear if both injured individuals were in the same vehicle.

Additionally, it is unknown whether there were other occupants in the vehicles who did not sustain injuries.

A user on X (formerly Twitter) named DR Media 371 posted that one of the vehicles rolled over following the crash and that one person had to be extricated. However, police have not confirmed those details with insauga.com.

The cause of the accident is still being investigated.

The area has been closed off with police tape for further investigations.

An ETA has not been provided for when the roadways will reopen to drivers.
