2 people dead after vehicle crashes into culvert in Brock, Ontario

A man and woman have died after their vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a drainage culvert in Brock, Ontario this morning.

Durham Regional Police say they responded to a single-vehicle rollover shortly after 3 a.m. near Thorah Side Road, south of Regional Road 15.

Officials say following the incident, a citizen came across the collision and notified the police.

Investigators say the vehicle—believed to be travelling southbound—lost control and entered into a drainage culvert on the east side of the roadway.

Additionally, the vehicle rolled as it entered the ditch and became submerged in water on its roof.

A man and woman were located in the vehicle deceased, police say.

Authorities have yet to release detailed information about the victims including their names, ages, or where they lived, and have not commented on how the victims were related to each other.

The roadways in the area were closed for several hours while evidence was collected. Police say the cause of the collision is still under investigation.
