Alderlea-Brampton-Openhouse

Brampton is opening the doors to one of the city’s premier venues this upcoming Saturday (April 13) with an open house event at The Alderlea.

The festivities will run all day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will showcase the venue’s equal parts lavish and historical spaces. The location itself is steeped in decades of local history, as its construction in 1867 was purposefully designed for one of Brampton’s founding figures, John Elliot.

As indicated by the Alderlea’s official website, the estate is designed in the style of an Italianate villa, with the cascading greenspace of Gage Park surrounding its extensions, offering a large variety of walkable space for additional outdoor celebrations.

While ownership of the villa has changed numerous hands over the last century, ever since its initial revitalization in 2010, the space has become a standout in Ontario for event rentals, such as weddings, social events and business gatherings.

Spaces that are included with The Alderlea’s interior include a massive pavilion space, a gorgeous reception parlor and a private room on the second floor.

While The Alderlea may be a little grandiose for the average passerby, the chance to visit one of Brampton’s most intact and regal historical sites should not be missed.
