Here's why police say they use cellphones while working in Ontario

Two men have been arrested following a sophisticated cellphone theft ring that allegedly trafficked more than $120,000 worth of stolen Bell Canada devices across the GTA.

Hamilton Police say thieves broke into a T Force Logistics warehouse in Stoney Creek during December 2024 and January 2025, specifically targeting high-end Bell Canada cellphones.

Working closely with Bell’s internal investigators, the Hamilton Police Break and Enter, Auto Theft, and Robbery (BEAR) Unit traced the stolen devices to two retail businesses: Link It Up in Oakville and Amrit Electronics in Etobicoke.

Search warrants executed at both locations uncovered a massive haul of stolen goods and cash, including:

  • 183 stolen iPhone 16 Pro Max devices, valued between $250,000 and $450,000
  • $65,000 in Canadian cash and $4,000 USD
  • 16.5 kg of silver bars, worth roughly $34,000
  • Stolen corporate SIM cards used to unlock hundreds of stolen phones
  • Packages addressed to Bell customers who had been defrauded through overseas scam call centres

Two Oakville men are now facing numerous charges.

Navjot Singh, 38, has been charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
  • Trafficking Property Obtained by Crime

Puneet Singh, 45, has been charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Trafficking Property Obtained by Crime
  • Proceeds of Crime Over $5,000
  • Fraud Over $5,000

Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
