18-year-old Hamilton man shot in home invasion near Hess Village

Police in Hamilton confirmed Monday that an 18-year-old local man was shot during a home invasion near Hess Village.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting on Sunday, just after 1 p.m., in the area of George and Caroline streets.
“Upon arrival, officers immediately secured the area and searched for anyone involved; however, no suspects were located,” issued the Hamilton Police Service.
“Through continued investigation, police can confirm several shots were fired inside a residence.”
Police believe this incident was targeted.

The victim of the shooting was transported to hospital.
He is expected to recover.
Detectives are appealing to area residents to check their security cameras and drivers in the area to check their dashcam footage between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday “for any suspicious activity.”
