17-year-old driver nabbed for travelling nearly twice speed limit in Hamilton

A 17-year-old driver from St. Catharines, Ont., was caught travelling almost double the speed limit on a major Hamilton road, according to police.
The incident took place last night (June 26) shortly before 11:30, police spokesperson Const. Krista-Lee Ernst told inthehammer.com.
The incident happened on Upper Centennial Parkway in the east end of the city.
The person was driving 131 kilometres per hour in a 70 km/h zone, police said.
The individual’s driver’s licence was seized, the driver was suspended for 30 days and the vehicle impounded for 14 days.
