Lottery winner in Mississauga must wait to claim prize

A Mississauga lottery winner is just a month away from claiming his prize.
Suvendran Selvanayagam of Mississauga has the winning ticket for a $15,400 prize with Pick 4 on March 15, 2023, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) said in a press release on April 28.
But as Selvanayagam is employed at an authorized OLG retailer, the winnings claim falls within OLG’s definition of an insider win.
Selvanayagam did not purchase or validate his ticket at his place of employment, OLG said.
However, claims of $10,000 or more from insiders require an enhanced review and validation as well as a 30-day publication period before payment to ensure there are no additional claims on the winning ticket.
The prize will be paid to the claimant on May 29, 2023 pending no additional claims before that date.

The ticket was purchased at Bristol Market on Bristol Road in Mississauga.
