15 year-old girl from Mississauga charged with B&Es in Oakville

A teenage girl from Mississauga is facing a myriad of break-and-enter, stolen vehicle and weapons charges after a rash of night-time thefts in Oakville.

Between July 1 and 11, seven Oakville residences in the area of Upper Middle Road and Eighth Line were broken into overnight while residents slept.

Similar entries occurred in York Region and Peel. During the entries, six vehicles were stolen along with cash and valuables from the residences.

As a result of the entries, Project Haze, a Halton police-led partnered investigation with Peel and York police, was initiated.

On July 27, investigators located and arrested a suspect, who was observed operating a stolen vehicle in Scarborough.

A search warrant at a residence in Mississauga turned up stolen car keys, garage door openers, jewelry and other stolen property. Investigators also located a modified replica firearm during the search. During the course of the investigation, seven stolen vehicles were recovered.

A 15-year-old female from Mississauga has been charged with, among other things. seven counts of break and enter, 2 counts of vehicle theft, use of credit card data, possession of stolen property over $5,000, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

She was held in custody pending a bail hearing. Her name has not been released because she’s a minor.
