15-year-old dirt bike rider dies after crash in southern Ontario

A 15-year-old dirt bike rider has died after a collision in southern Ontario on Tuesday, police say.

Ontario Provincial Police said that at 4:44 p.m., emergency services responded to Denfield Road between Airport Drive and Elginfield Road (Highway 7) in the Township of Lucan Biddulph.

That’s north of London.

The collision involved an SUV and a dirt bike.

The rider of the bike, a 15-year-old resident of Lucan Biddulph, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The teen was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver of the SUV was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

OPP officers, Middlesex-London paramedics, local firefighters, and Air Ornge responded to the crash.

Police didn’t say what may have been the cause.
